Tim Bower

Tim is the 5th generation of the Bower family to farm on Stanley Vale.

Tim grew up on Stanley Vale but prior to commencing full time work on Stanley Vale spent 3 years working in shearing sheds as a wool classer and shearer. After this Tim spent 10 years working at CSIRO Chiswick. Tim’s interest in new technologies, which was initially fostered by his father Kevin, was further developed in this time. During this period Tim also studied Farm Management at Orange Agricultural College through distance education. Tim returned to Stanley Vale full time in 1990 working alongside Kevin. Tim considers himself very lucky to have worked alongside Kevin, gradually being given more responsibility on Stanley Vale over the years. Tim is a strong advocate of encouraging young people into the industry; inviting UNE students on farm for work experience, donating sheep for use in junior judging competitions and judging junior judging competitions.

Tim is a registered Merino judge with the NSW Stud Merino Breeders Association and has been invited to judge at numerous shows over the years including; the Sydney Royal Easter Show and the Great Southern Supreme Merino Show and Sale. Tim is also a qualified wool classer and classes the Stanley Vale clip each year.
