Australian chilled beef to be Sold online to Chinese consumers

Chinese consumers will soon be able to buy Australian chilled beef direct online for the first time in a ground breaking partnership between a premium meat exporter and China’s largest online retailer. 

Premium meat exporter Bindaree Beef Group and their meat sales and marketing business, Sanger Australia, have partnered with JD.com, the largest online direct sales company in China, to launch packed-in-Australia chilled retail-ready beef into the Chinese market.

STRADDLING agricultural, construction and industrial markets, JCB’s Teletruk range is top of the agenda in a roadshow to improve awareness of the nifty machine.

The crossover machine design features a forklift style body with a telehandler style boom instead of a mast providing added flexibility to a range of applications.

Beef will continue bull run says MLA chief

STRONG global demand and a positive outlook for the WA beef industry should continue into the future, according to experts at the WAFarmers annual beef conference.

MLA international business manager Andrew McCallum said the robust beef industry globally had great potential for the WA beef sector.

He said MLA was forecasting that Australian supplies post the current high turn-off period would be constrained going forward, and that it would take time for the herd to build back up nationally.

Sisters are ag's Tall Poppies

THE work of University of Southern Queensland (USQ) mechatronic engineers Cheryl and Alison McCarthy is not only kicking goals in the agriculture sector but winning awards in the process.

This week, the sisters won the 2015 Young Tall Poppy Science Awards for their work, which is helping to improve productivity and sustainability in agriculture.

An initiative of the Australian Institute for Policy and Science (AIPS), the awards recognise Australia’s outstanding young scientific researchers and communicators, and the Queensland winners were announced at the 2015 Science Celebration in Brisbane recently.
