After a few busy weeks on the farm we managed to escape down to Sydney for the Easter Show. As always it was a fantastic few days catching up with everyone and viewing the sheep.

Congratulations to Conrayn Stud on taking out Supreme Exhibit with their March Shorn Superfine Ram and to Nerstane Stud for taking out Supreme Merino Ewe with their March Shorn Fine-Medium Poll Ewe

The sheep shed came to life on Tuesday and Wednesday last week with the Sydney wool auction also taking up residence in the shed. Over the 2 days over 10,000 bales of wool was sold at the show. On Tuesday's sale over $13 million of wool was sold creating quite a spectacle for visitors to the shed. Like us many wool growers made the trip to see their wool being sold. Whilst the market dropped off 20-30c from previous weeks, our wool sold much more strongly than last year. We were very pleased that our top line of wool on offer in Sydney made 3400c/kg.

Whilst a trip to the show is a welcome opportunity for catching up with friends, it's nice to be back in the New England enjoying the crisp autumn mornings as we start turning our attention to joining.
